Real Self Defense
Privacy policy
Last updated October 14, 2026
This policy explains what Real Self Defense (“we”, “us”) collects when you use the Real Self Defense mobile and smart TV apps and the website at rsdfitness.com, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We don’t sell your data, and we don’t use it for advertising.
What we collect
- Account details. Your name, email address and a securely hashed password. If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive an identifier from Apple and the email address Apple shares with us.
- Your plan. The answers you give when you set up: your plan level (Starter, Consistent or Operator), training days, goals, experience level, reminder time and time zone.
- Training history. The workouts and drills you finish, the round, when you finished, and optional feedback such as how hard it felt.
- Habits. The habits you create and the days you check them off or skip them.
- Fitness test results. The numbers you record for each test move and when you recorded them.
- App usage events. Simple events such as “session started”, “session completed” or “habit created”, linked to your account, so we can see which features work and fix what doesn’t. These stay in our own database; we don’t send them to analytics or advertising companies.
- Push notification tokens. If you allow notifications, your device’s push token, so we can send reminders. Turn notifications off in Settings at any time.
- Founding 50 sign-ups. If you claim a founding spot on our website, your name and email address.
Apple Health
On iPhone, if you turn it on, the mobile app writes your finished workouts and drills to Apple Health as workouts. The app reads nothing from Apple Health, and we never send Health data to our servers.
What we don’t collect
- Your location.
- Your contacts, photos, camera or microphone recordings.
- Payment card details (none are taken today).
How we use it
- To run your account, build your weekly plan, and keep your streak, history and results in sync across your phone and TV.
- To send the reminders and emails you ask for, such as password resets and training reminders.
- To understand which parts of the app help people train, and to improve them.
- To contact Founding 50 members about launch.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that run the app for us: our hosting and database providers, our email delivery provider, and Apple and Google (for push notifications and Sign in with Apple). They process data on our behalf and may not use it for anything else. We may also disclose data if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while you have an account. When you delete your account, we delete your account and training data. Usage events are kept without a link to you.
Your choices
- Delete your account in the mobile app: Profile → Delete Account. This permanently removes your plan, streaks, results and history.
- Delete individual fitness test results in Progress.
- Turn off notifications (and, on iPhone, Apple Health access) in your phone’s settings.
- Ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion by emailing hello@rsdfitness.com.
Children
Real Self Defense isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app or by email.
